We are the Only Training Facility in the region that uses the FMS in our sports training
Here at GBC we are proud to be bringing the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and all its benefits to Eastern Tennessee!
No one else in the region has this great tool to offer its athletic population.
While many of the screens in the FMS don’t mimic exact movements in sports performance, it does analyzing a player’s basic movement/motor patterns used in sports performance and can provide useful insight into how the athlete moves.
Functional movements are movements based on real-world situational biomechanics. They usually involve multi-planar, multi-joint movements which place demand on the body’s core musculature and innervation.
The principles of movement are implemented from the results we derive from the Functional Movement Screen, allowing our professionals to make programming decisions with precision and purpose .
Screen results provide valuable feedback throughout the training process to ensure we are meeting short and long-term movement goals for not only sports performance, but lifelong health and vitality.
FMS–Excellent return to play and ready to play analysis…
As in other sports, the FMS is utilized as a return to play protocol and in preseason testing to evaluate readiness to train and perform. It allows the medical and strength and conditioning staff to have similar lines of communication with regards to what that player needs for their performance. It also creates a platform to have better conversations with a player, coach and parent on why they are moving the way they are moving and how improving the way they move, help reduce risk of injury and improve their performance.”
